2009 Pumpkin Festival Contests

Creative Pumpkin Carving Contest sponsored by Reese Marshall
Bring your best carved pumpkins to be judged! The categories are: Scariest, Most Creative, Funniest and Most Original
Judging:  On the main stage in West Park at 6:45pm Saturday, Oct. 24th

Witch & Warlock Costume Contest sponsored by Frontier
Dress up in your best Halloween costume and be judged on being the Funniest, Scariest, Most Creative or Most Original.
Judging:  On the main stage in West Park at 1pm Saturday, Oct. 24th

Dog-gone Scary Costume Contest
Dress up your dog (friendly and leashed dogs only) to prance across the Main Stage and be judged.
Judging:  On the main stage in West Park at 2:45pm Saturday, Oct. 24th

Window Decorating Contest for All Downtown Norwich Businesses
Businesses will be judged on their festive pumpkin creativity as it relates to the Norwich Pumpkin Festival. 
Judging:  Monday, Oct. 19th @ 6:30pm.
First Prize $100, Second Prize $50, Third Prize $25 

Scarecrow Contest sponsored by the Morrisville State College
The categories are: Scariest, Most Creative, Funniest and Most Colorful Cash prizes awarded for all categories! Drop Off Entries Friday, October 23rd, 12-9pm and Saturday 9-12 in West Park.
Judging:  Entries will be judged on Saturday, October 24th at Noon
Note: Please take your scarecrow home at the conclusion of the evening on Oct. 24th or it will be disposed of during clean-up.

Pumpkin Bake Off
Bring your pumpkin baked goodies to be judged.  Categories include best cakes and cheesecakes, cookies and bars, breads and muffins and pies and puddings.  There is also a teen category.  Anyone 17 and under can bake a dish from any category and enter it in the teen contest for the chance at a cash price.  Each entry must include pumpkin, in some form, as the main ingredient.  See the Norwich Pennysaver for further details.
Judging:  Will take place at 12 noon, Saturday, Oct. 24th

Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest
Bring your pumpkin pie appetite so you can win the first Pumpkin Festival Pie Eating Contest.  First 50 participants will be eligible for the contest.
Contest will take place on the main stage at 5:00pm, Saturday, Oct. 24th
