The
Norwich Pumpkin Festival originated in 1999 after several families from the
Norwich area attended another popular Pumpkin Festival in Keene, NH. This group
of individuals was inspired to bring a similar event to their hometown in
Norwich, New York. The primary goal of the event is to bring families together
for FREE activities and entertainment during the two-day Festival.
Schools, clubs, businesses, organizations and families are all
encouraged to participate by carving pumpkins to put on display on our
impressive scaffolding throughout the parks and downtown in Norwich.
Although the organizers have suffered more than their fair share of
rainy, cold and even snowy weather during the Festival throughout the
years, this event continues to be the highlight of the fall season for
many people - young and old alike!
